Principal Counsel – International Affairs
Parth Raman serves as Principal Counsel for International Affairs at Vera Causa Legal, where he architects the firm's cross-border legal strategies and coordinates the Global Services division, including the India-EU and India-SEA Desks. A Constitutional Counsel (Independent) and a distinguished Lawyer, his practice focuses on the intersection of transnational regulatory frameworks, geopolitical strategy, and multi-jurisdictional compliance.
Mr. Raman brings an exceptional caliber of legislative and policy experience to the firm. Having served as a Legal and Legislative Trainee and Research Assistant in the Indian Parliament (Lok Sabha), he has drafted critical Private Member Bills concerning maritime protection, human rights, and disability frameworks. Beyond domestic legislation, he serves as a South Asian Affairs Expert for the Japan Institute for National Fundamentals, providing strategic intelligence on India’s positioning in the Indian Ocean. He is also the Founder of the South-Asian Geopolitical Summit.
A recognized leader in international diplomacy, Mr. Raman is a former Leadership and Policy Delegate at Harvard HPAIR. His advisory and research footprint extends to the highest echelons of global leadership, having collaborated on policy frameworks with Her Excellency Ameenah Gurib-Fakim, the First Female President of Mauritius, and having worked on initiatives aligned with United Nations frameworks. As a former Human Rights City Lab Fellow, he possesses deep expertise in aligning municipal governance with international human rights standards.
Holding a prestigious Erasmus+ Double Degree from the University of Wrocław and the University of Padova, Mr. Raman’s academic contributions are extensive, having authored six published books and numerous peer-reviewed papers on complex topics ranging from EU-Russia relations to the regulatory friction between Artificial Intelligence and traditional law. A true polymath, his disciplined approach to legal architecture is mirrored in his personal pursuits as a licensed helicopter pilot and an accomplished athlete. Fluent in multiple languages, he brings a uniquely global and sophisticated perspective to VCL’s international clientele.
